I Love Stationery Because…
I Love Stationery Because…
To celebrate National Stationery Week starting 25th April, we are on a nationwide hunt to find Britain's biggest stationery obsessive. With comedian Sarah Millican and author Jill Mansell confessing to their love of stationery, and Peter Jones carrying his trusty Yard O Led Viceroy wherever he goes, it appears many of us Brits share this common admiration, with hardcore fans flocking to National Stationery Week in their droves every year.
The Competition
If you think you’re love for stationery “knows-no-bounds”, you could be in with a chance to win a £150 hamper from Pen Heaven. We want to know why you can’t walk pass a stationery shop without a compulsion to enter, why your stationery collection is your prized possession or perhaps why you adore your library of fastidiously organised journals and notebooks.
The Prize
One winner will be selected based on the extravagance of their stationery addiction. They will receive a £150 gift voucher to spend on Pen Heaven.
How To Enter
To enter, complete this sentence “‘I love stationery because…….’. Images of stationery collections in all their glory are highly encouraged, and will be taken into account by the judges. The competition starts on the 9th March and closes on 1st May 2016. Email your entry to info@ or tweet @pen_heaven using the hashtag #ILoveStationery. “Many years ago…before people obsessed over computers, tablets and mobile phones, it was popular to have the best of the best in stationery. We reveled in the extensive choice of colourful, quirky and downright amazing pens, rubbers, pencil cases, books and diaries. Although technology is a brilliant invention, these retro items bring back memories in a way a laptop could never do – they were silly, fun and personalised. My personal favourite? The wind-up sharpener.” – David Cole, Pen Heaven

I love stationery its my quiet safe space. No one can @tweet me, or invade my space. Shopping for my stash is so much fun, so much to choose from. Miss kitty, bling, classic, whatever my mood takes. Im spolit for choice, which suits me fine. In summer Ibuy bright things, in winter, my choice is rather bland, but no matter what I must have my note books, an pens to hand. Crayons smell of child hood, A4 pad of student days. Clouring books of child hood and lazy days. Writing with roller balls is like skating on ice, easy to glide, rather nice. Ink is a smell I truly love, if it cleaned toilets, id soon wear rubber gloves. Paper oh paper Let thee smell your sweet sent, it makes me feel smarter than my brain intends. Pencil cases are lastest bag to have, and a girl can never have too many. Like shoes in a closet, I have rubber clore, ruler and sharper, oh what ahoard. Some collect stamps, or money, but I collect stationery, at least its practical. It ant mail me, facebook me, or get in my way. If the internet goes down, Im not affected no way.I probably make spelling mistakes as an excuse to us white out, or rubbers, any excuse to go shopping and admire all others. The cat walk of pens , is of cousre from pen heaven, and parker is a must,as are pearls round my bust. I have no pictures I dareshare for fear of shock, plus its my guilty secret that I like o not show off. But enter my room and you can smell what I own. Im a conisseiour of paper. Wine is not my thing. Got to go, off to buy some new pen bling.
I love to design and make my own greetings cards, and I think that gives me an increased awareness of the value of stationery and the design work that has gone into it. And of course I always need to have a lovely notebook and pen to hand to jot down new design ideas, so it's a great reason to shop for stationery too.
I love stationary because it allows my dreams for writing to become a reality xxxx
It's a way to flow your thoughts and emotions from your mind or heart to a permanent memoire. I write everything down as it helps focus thoughts or more practically remind me what I need to do.
I love stationary because it's lovely to keep and look back on with fond memories. I find emailing impersonal, I am from the generation of snail mail, I loved receiving a letter from my penpals!!
I like pretty things on my desk!!
Stationery is like a hobby as I love to shop and collect, a real pleasure.
I love stationery because nothing electronic gives you the same sense of anticipatory promise, new beginnings and endless possibilities, as a virgin page in front of you and in your hand, a writing instrument filled with smooth flowing ink. Delightful!
I love stationary because it remind me of being at school and trying to be the person with the best pencil case. Contents had to include Bic Biro's (fineliners if you could afford them), neon highlighters, yellow HB pencils, shatterproof ruler, crappy plastic pencil sharpener (that someone always borrowed and never gave back) and a novelty rubber or the standard pink oblong one.
I love stationary because the best things in life a beautiful and functional at the same time.
I love colour and pattern and nice sationery makes mundane things like diaries and shopping lists more attractive. I really should get a life!
I love stationary because I'm old school. Writing, drawing and doodling with pens and paper was our generations iPads x

it helped my education and beyond, too international blue chip corporate work, still armed with my stationary
I love stationery because it helps me revise for all my upcoming exams! If I didn’t have fun, pastel highlighters, or colourful biro pens; I would never revise or do any work! Everytime I go shopping I gaze in awe outside the windows of stationery shops and have to buy something!
