The first Pelikan fountain pen was launched in 1929. It features the green barrel, transparent ink window and piston fill mechanism which are still evident in many Pelikan pens to this day
A true classic of the pen world, the Souverän is famed for its distinctive striped barrel reminiscent of a pinstriped suit. The attention to detail sets this pen apart with its iconic clip, logo detail on the cap and nib, and its striped barrel that requires many steps to manufacture. The Souverän was originally launched in 1950 as the 400 range, and renamed the Souverän in the 1980s, quickly becoming Pelikan’s flagship collection. The compact M400 fountain pen lends itself to smaller hands, whilst the distinguished, iridescent green pinstriped barrel is enhanced by gloss black accents and polished gold trim.
