Brand Info

Founded in 1919 in Japan, Platinum pens are designed with both traditional and modern techniques. The Maki-e pens feature classic Japanese motifs using a technique from the Tempyro Era (710-794). Prices range from the affordable Plaisir fountain pen ideal for children (£10) to the ornate Fuji Raijin pen covered with fragments of gold leaf. All Platinum pens feature high quality nibs, their music nib coveted for its extra smooth ink flow. We stock Platinum ink cartridges, converters and bottled ink.

I am absolutely thrilled with the Fude pen for doing all kinds of artwork. There is nothing similar on the market to make its unique mark on paper.

Platinum Brush Pen Written by Saachi
Nice pen, decently springy tip but can't make extremely fine lines. Good for quick sketching, though, and shading large areas, and larger east asian calligraphy. The best thing about it is easily the ink- Platinum Carbon is beautifully black and ultra waterproof. If you want the best brush pen and ink tool combination for art, go for the Kuretake No. 13 with Platinum carbon ink cartridges. For calligraphy, either is great. The tip on this one can get medium- thin lines, but not super fine ones.
