The look and finish of the pen is superb. Engraving a meaningful quote or line from a poem can add a nice touch. The pen did not write the smoothest for the first day or two, but became much easier to write with time. Bought this for a friend who loved it, and I almost want to get one for myself too. 13th May, 2012

Will give the pen five stars, as it is of high quality, looks good, and writes effortlessly (using Parker Quink and the piston convertor for bottled ink). Starts fist time, even when left for a few days: but my initial trial with the cartridge was unsuccessful. 3rd Jan, 2012

I have used fountain pens on a daily basis for over 50 years. After several weeks' experience of this pen, I find that it is perfectly balanced in the hand and the ink flow is perfectly controlled, so that, as with any quality tool, it is a pleasure to use. The design is not confined to functionality - it is also attractive to the eye. I should also like to mention that although the colour is given as red, it is not a bright pillarbox red, but a more subdued and far more pleasant shade close to crimson. It goes without saying that I am highly delighted with my new pen. 11th Dec, 2011
