When I opened a pen case I was a bit disappointed, the picture promises more than what the pen really is. It looks better on the picture than in real life and the appearance is what I was after. I have owned a Parker Fountain Pen for well over fifty-five years. and it saw considerable use during it's formative years. It took me through my five year R.N. Apprenticeship (You have no idea know how much writing was expected of us) and on through Ball point mania to the present day without a hitch or scratchy splatt. So when my Granddaughter required a pen it was Parker I turned to. I was very pleased to find one that was very reasonably priced and still maintains the "ball type stainless steel nib" that has seen me through. The design, stability and firmness of it in the hand feels just right. I am convinced that it will last my Granddaughter a very long time. It writes superbly too. I have one criticism and that is that the thread behind the nib that has to be undone to replace the ink cartridge is very crude and could be a point of wear. This could be a letdown in the long run . Put this right Parker and you are on to a winner. Regards, Ben 12th Oct, 2011
