Personalise your Pen with an Engraving
Using state of the art equipment, we offer an engraving service for personalising your pen.
This makes the ideal gift for occasions such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduation or retirement. Sending personalised gifts to your friends or family is a fantastic way to show how much you care. The pen with a personal touch makes the present much more meaningful, special and unique.
Engraving is the process of incising a design or pattern into a surface. We utilise a computerised laser engraving machine, which uses pinpoint accuracy to engrave your pen.
Please take note of these few guidelines:
- A maximum of 24 characters (including spaces) can fit on a standard length pen
- A maximum of 15 characters (including spaces) can fit on a compact pen and pen caps
- UPPERCASE words (not initials) in an Italic font can be difficult to read - if you would like UPPERCASE, the Roman font is recommended
- Where dates are used, we recommend a full-stop or a dash e.g. 19.11.09 or 19-11-09 as opposed to 19/11/09 as the slashes can be confused with the numeral '1'
Your message will be engraved horizontally down the barrel, allowing space for a good sized message. Each pen has a different design, and so we use our professional judgment to find the best location for your engraving. As pens are made out of different materials, the engravings will vary from pen to pen. It is important to know which style of engraving fits the material of the pen and your personal taste. For your convenience please find below a few examples of different pens and various styles of engraving.
For example, stainless steel, chrome plated and solid silver pens like some of the Parker Sonnet,Parker Latitude, Sheaffer Prelude, Fisher Space Bullet, Lamy Studio and Laban Silver pens would produce a very subtle engraving.

Pens with a lacquer finish would give more contrast when engraved as the top coat is cut to reveal the surface underneath. Depending on the type of metal underneath, the message appears in either brass or chrome. The best examples would be most of the black and bright coloured pens such as Waterman Carene, Waterman Expert, Parker Sonnet, Lamy Swift, Caran D’ache Leman, etc.

The engraving on lacquered pens with a gold or silver shimmering finish creates an elegant and quality feel. The classical elegance of a well made pen complemented with an elegant and tasteful engraving makes words or wishes dedicated to friends, business partners or the loved ones everlasting.

We offer a choice of 2 different fonts, and we are also able to engrave logos. (These images are not meant to show the location of all engravings).

The engraving option will only appear if the pen is engraveable. Pens with a patterned finish are engraved, then enhanced with a silver or gold leaf so that the letters stand out clearly. We recommend a maximum number of 24 characters on a standard length pen and 15 characters on a compact pen . If you request an engraved pen and subsequently change your mind, we are unable to offer a refund (assuming the engraving has been completed).
